Bare faced: Triona McCarthy on the barely there look

I’ve just discovered Ocean Bloom, above, a pure, natural, organic seaweed-skincare line made on the Beara Peninsula in beautiful west Cork, my home turf.

Creator Cheryl Cleminson told me she never had any intention of making a skincare range, but when Alfie, her second grandson, was born with baby eczema, he was quite poorly with it.
An aromatherapist with nearly 20 years experience, Cheryl started using seaweed and oils to heal him, with amazing results – since then, she has made oils and creams with seaweed to heal burns and help skin problems.

“My skincare is for people with lovely skin or sore skin; it’s gentle enough for babies or the elderly, and it’s pure and can be used if someone is undergoing treatment of any kind, as it’s free of parabens, SLS, petrochemicals and silicones,” she says.
I’m getting great results with the Seaweed Scar Oil, €19, on my C-section scar.
